Mr. Petzel joined the Mathematics faculty at BASIS Independent Brooklyn last year after many years practicing law then a transition to make a difference teaching. As a Math Subject Expert Teacher, he strives to both engage and inspire students. “I want to show students that mathematics is accessible to everyone, regardless of prior experience,” said Mr. Petzel. “Moreover, I want my students to get excited about their own ability and comprehension.”
Mr. Petzel received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz then his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
