Ms. Goodin graduated from Montclair State University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in music education. Holly began her teaching career as a middle school fine arts teacher in New Jersey. In 2012, she became a Teach for America Corps member in Oakland, California, where she received her K-8 multiple subjects teaching credential. During that time, Ms. Goodin taught elementary school grades, and received a master's degree from Loyola Marymount University. She was previously a second grade Learning Expert Teacher at BASIS Independent Brooklyn before deciding to focus on English and Humanities instruction.
As a Humanities and English Subject Expert Teacher, she is focused on helping students discover their passions, in addition to developing a community of scholars who use a growth mindset to support one another and persist through academic challenges.
"BASIS Independent Brooklyn promotes a culture of achievement, creativity, and innovation. When I first visited this school, I observed a classrooms of students working hard while having fun. I'm excited to be part of such a dedicated team of educators,” says Ms. Goodin.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Goodin enjoys yoga, reading, cooking, traveling (she has a newfound love for visiting national parks), and concert-going.
