His love of Chinese and philosophy led Mr. Kossally to study those subjects at Georgetown University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2014.
As a Subject Expert Teacher of Logic and Mandarin, his goal as a BASIS Independent educator is to "develop the natural curiosity of my students in order to introduce them to new ways of thinking."
Upon graduating from college, he had no intention of becoming a teacher, but the BASIS Independent philosophy of teaching students to love learning convinced him that this is an organization that he really belongs to. "The only thing I would love more than being a BASIS Independent Brooklyn educator is being a student at this wonderful school!" he says emphatically.
He loves cooking and ballroom dancing. "When I am not at school, I am most likely in the kitchen or at the studio," he says.
