Ms. Steiner has been teaching in New York City Independent Schools since 2008. Originally from New Jersey, she moved to Massachusetts to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College. After living in London during her junior year and volunteering in schools, she quickly realized that her passion was to be an educator. Ms. Steiner then moved to New York to obtain her Master’s degree in Education at Hunter College, and she has been teaching in the city since graduation. She joined BASIS as a Learning Expert Teacher, then became the Dean of Students for Grades 1-4 in 2016. Ms. Steiner is now excited to join the middle school program as Director of Student Affairs.

Ms. Steiner enjoys strolling Prospect Park with her husband and dog, reading nonfiction, traveling abroad, and practicing yoga.
