Project Title: Making Fashion Sustainable Again
BASIS Advisor: Dr. Lisa Noudehou
Internship Location: Everywear
Onsite Mentor: Brandon Holley
Fashion is the number two pollutant, after the oil industry. With the rise of fast fashion and e-commerce, it has become critical to change the way that people approach fashion. One important step towards encouraging sustainability in the fashion industry is to use the power of the consumer. This project will look at different ways that sustainability can be marketed so that it can be at the forefront of decision-making in teenage fashion. In addition to working through the platform, “Everywear”, this project will collect data through surveys as well as use google analytics to track interest in a variety of marketing strategies. The goal of this project is to better understand how to market sustainability in fashion to steer the industry towards being more sustainable.
