Thank you for your interest in our vibrant learning community at BASIS Independent Brooklyn!

BASIS Independent Brooklyn is currently closed through April 20, which follows suit with the public school closure announcement, to protect public health in our city. Although our campus is closed during this time we are continuing to accept applications to select grades for the 2020-2021 school year in our Rolling Admissions cycle. Please note that seat availability depends on the grade.

The admissions process at BASIS Independent Brooklyn is selective and multi-step to ensure that we spend time getting to know each applicant and family. Once you have submitted your application for the upcoming school year, you will receive an email from our Admissions team outlining your next steps in the process.

Those students applying to grade 3 and above will have the opportunity to take an online Entrance Exam as well as complete their Family Meeting virtually during our current school closure. The corresponding required materials, including transcripts and teacher recommendations, can all be submitted electronically.

Students applying to PreK-1, PreK-2, Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 are also encouraged to apply for the upcoming school year. We will work directly with you to schedule your virtual Family Meeting. When BASIS Independent Brooklyn reopens, we will be in touch to coordinate the playdate and assessments for these grade levels.
