Clubs & Activities

It is our goal to inspire students towards finding their interests and to give them opportunities to hone their passions. At BASIS Independent Brooklyn, we offer a vast sampling of many different clubs and activities for students to try, from PreKindergarten all the way to High School, to foster social engagement and to develop leadership skills.

We rely on students to both participate and guide the offerings: first by inviting them to share their interests, and later by encouraging them to develop programs where they see a need. We hope that by helping our youngest learners discover their interests, those passions will eventually culminate in creating electives we can add to our repertoire.

Our students have accomplished major victories throughout the years, and we couldn't be more proud! Here are some key triumphs from this past year:

  • MATHCOUNTS—Our inaugural team placed second in the Brooklyn regional competition!
  • National Latin Exam—Our students proudly earned 2 perfect papers, 8 Gold summa cum Laude, and multiple other high honors
  • Scholastic Arts Competition—Our students won several regional awards in photography, mixed media, and painting.
  • Math Kangaroo—Two of our students received national and state recognition.
