Week 5: Measuring the Mental and Social Status of Teenage Gym Goers Part 1

May 08, 2023

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!

As mentioned in my previous blog post, I have been working on an anonymous survey that aims to measure the mental and social status of teenagers who go to the gym. The survey consists of several questions that cover various aspects of mental health and social interaction. For example, it asks participants about their mood before and after going to the gym, as well as their feelings of connection and belonging in their gym community. I have been working hard to finalize the survey questions, and I’m happy to report that it will be ready for distribution early next week. My plan is to make it available to the public later in the week, and I’m excited to see what kind of responses we get. To ensure that we reach as many potential participants as possible, I am considering two different distribution methods. The first is to leave QR codes around the rec center gym, as well as in other gyms in the area. This will allow people to scan the code and access the survey quickly and easily. The second option is to airdrop the survey for those who are interested in participating. My hope is that this survey will provide valuable insights into the relationship between exercise, mental health, and social connection in teens. Specifically, I’m interested in whether going to the gym has a positive impact on teenagers’ mental health and whether it helps build a stronger sense of community. By gathering data through this survey, we can learn more about the benefits of regular exercise for teenagers and potentially inform future programs or initiatives that focus on promoting mental health and social connection among this age group. Overall, I’m excited to see the results of the survey and the potential impact it could have on the health and well-being of teens in our community.

Thank you for tuning into my blog this week and see you next week!
