Week 3: Slow and Steady Wins the Race
Welcome back, everyone!
This week has been super slow for me in terms of research. I spent the week researching several lawyers and activists. Once I narrowed it down to about 20 people, I reached out to all of them and I am currently awaiting their responses. All of these individuals range from lawyers that have insight/opinions on the juvenile justice system to activists that have worked with the Central Park Five. My goal, if I get in contact with them, is to first get to know them. Simple questions will be asked like how they got into their fields of work, etc. I will then move into asking questions about how they view the juvenile justice system, what they know about the Central Park Five case, and if they feel the system has made improvements since 1989. I am hoping to get at least 10 responses that turn into interviews and then I can move forward with some more research. I hope next week is more structured and runs faster than this past week.
See you all next week!

Kayla, I’m sure it’s been hard shifting the focus of your project so quickly, but you seem to have it under control! I think hearing from these individuals will definitely provide you with some powerful insight into this case and the juvenile justice system. Hope next week is better for you!
