Mr. Denis joins the Science faculty at BASIS Independent Brooklyn after decades of experience teaching and furthering his devotion to science. He attended Princeton then NYU as an undergraduate. At NYU he went on to receive his master’s degree in intellectual history. Then he received a Fulbright to attend Federal Polytechnic in Zurich. He returned to NYU and received a second master’s degree in the history of science.
Mr. Denis studied to receive his Project Lead the Way (PLTW) certification in principals of engineering, digital electronics, and aerospace. He has studied extensively in the post-graduate setting and was honored to attend the CERN High School Teachers Program in Geneva. Mr. Denis has taught extensively in the Minnesota schools system at the high school and college level while pursuing his postgraduate studies. Most recently, Mr. Denis taught physics in private schools in New York City. He also co-founded the New York Chapter of QuarkNet, a research-based teacher professional development program jointly funded by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy.
