Ms. Hodari

Early Education Teacher

Ms. Hodari attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Following graduation, Ms. Hodari moved to New York and began her teaching career at a charter school in Fort Greene where she taught kindergarten for three years and led her team for two of those years. During this time she also completed her Master’s degree in childhood education and special education.

Ms. Hodari is excited to bring her passion and knowledge to BASIS Independent Brooklyn as a kindergarten teacher. “I am thrilled to be joining the BASIS Independent Brooklyn team and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to foster a sense of excitement around learning in every child, nurturing interest about the world around them and making learning meaningful by embedding educational goals within social development,” says Ms. Hodari.

As an avid baseball fan, Ms. Hodari roots for her hometown team, the Detroit Tigers, but has adopted the Mets as her New York team. She also enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and trying new restaurants.
