Ms. Crowley is delighted to be a part of the Fine Arts faculty at BASIS Independent Brooklyn as Performing Arts Subject Expert Teacher. Originally from Montreal, she trained as an actor at the Dome Theatre Conservatory Program before heading down to New York to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in educational theatre at NYU Steinhardt, graduating with honors in 2010. In 2013, she received her master's degree from the University of Toronto's Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies.
Ms. Crowley has years behind her as an in-demand teaching artist of drama, theatre, and creative play for organizations including Wingspan Arts, 92nd Street Y, Young People's Theatre (Toronto), and The Stage Door Academy (Toronto). She loves nothing more than working with students to build community, compassion, and confidence through the art form!
In addition to her work in arts education, Ms. Crowley is an avid dramaturge, stage director, and performer. Before joining BASIS Independent Brooklyn, she had an exciting year interning in the literary department at New York Theatre Workshop.
Ms. Crowley can most often be found running in the park, conjuring vegan baked goods, and reading plays in coffee shops.
