Ms. Langenthal earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and completed the teacher certification program from Muhlenberg College, also achieving her elementary teacher license in Pennsylvania and New York State. She was a member of the Psi Chi and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Societies and studied abroad in the spring of 2011 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
While attending Teachers College Columbia University, Ms. Langenthal received her Master of Education degree and her Master of Arts degree in Psychological Counseling, completing her graduate coursework and internship in School Counseling. She is a licensed K-12 School Counselor in New York State and New Jersey. From 2013-2016, Ms. Langenthal has worked within the Independent School System, serving as a School Counselor. These experiences have been instrumental for the start of her career at BASIS Independent Brooklyn.
“As the Dean of Students it is my goal to set high academic expectations infused with a love of learning and success. I am committed to continuously cultivating the inner passion of all my students,” says Ms. Langenthal.
“I chose to work at BASIS Independent because I feel students need a well-rounded, supportive and thriving academic experience,” she says. “At BASIS Independent, students are provided with a learning atmosphere that promotes their curiosities and they develop into life-long, culturally sensitive learners in all aspects of their life.”
You may find Ms. Langenthal traveling to new and exciting places, exploring the sights of New York, or working out at the gym. She is a soccer guru with a love for watching and playing the game. In her free time, she volunteers as a New York event director for the Get Your Rear In Gear 5K event where she is passionate about fundraising for the colon cancer coalition organization.
