Applying to BASIS Independent Brooklyn

Thank you for your interest in learning more about the process for admission to BASIS Independent Brooklyn. Our process is selective and multi-step, ensuring we spend time getting to know our applicants, their families, and vice-versa.
We are currently accepting applications for fall 2017 admissions on a rolling basis. Depending on grade, some applicants may be immediately placed into a waiting pool as we await final acceptance by our Regular Admissions Candidates.

Applications for the 2017-18 school year are now available. Register for our interest list to receive updates from our admissions team or apply now.

Rolling Admissions
Application Deadline: Applications for all grades are open until the grade has closed. Once a grade has closed, submitted applications that receive a letter of acceptance will automatically go onto our waitlist.
Notification: Within 10 business days of receiving your completed application.
Enrollment Agreement and Deposit Deadlines: Within 15 business days of being offered a seat. 
International students requiring a Form I-20 must apply to the International Student Program through BASIS Global Learn More

Admissions Steps and Requirements

    Attend an Informational Event (Optional)

    Though not required, we recommend you attend an informational event to learn about our program before applying.

    Optional for all grades (Preschool-10th grade).

    Complete and submit an online application along with a $75 application fee.

    Applications are now available. Sign up to be notified.

    Required for all grades (Preschool-10th grade).

    Provide teacher evaluation forms to your child's current teacher(s).

    We require that materials are sent directly from your child's current school to our Admissions office.

    Required for 1st-10th grades.

    Submit transcript request to your child's current school.

    We require that materials are sent directly from your child's current school to our Admissions office.

    Required for 1st-10th grades.

    Register online for your child's group play date (Preschool, Kindergarten and Grade 1) or entrance exam (2nd-10th grades).

    Required for Preschool-10th grades.

  • 6

    Register online for your Family Meeting.

    All applicants and at least one parent and/or legal guardian must attend a 30-minute meeting where we will interview your child and answer any questions you may have.
